SomeTips for being a good pet owner:
- Make sure your pet has a regular vetinarian that knows the history of your pets health.
The better your vet knows your pet he will be able to make a better diagnosis, and give better advice to ensure your pet's health.
- Make sure your pets have their annual vet visits, and vaccines:
Extremely important for your pet's health, and well-being.
- All pets should be microchipped, and licensed:
If your pet goes missing the microchip helps identify your pet if their I.D tag is lost. This allows any shelter that your pet might have been taken to a means of contacting you.
It is also the law to have your pet licensed. You can recieve your pet's license at the Animal Services location near you. (I'm not sure how much it is for dogs, but for cats it is $15 a year per cat.)
- Emergency Contact Number:
In case anything should happen to you, provide an emergency contact number to your vet, local Human Society or O.S.P.C.A office of any family members or friends who may be able to provide a home for your pet.
Note: There has been word of foxes, and coyotes in the surrounding Toronto areas, so please keep you pet indoors, especially the small ones.
